United States Coast Guard C4ISR Building Addition
The C4ISR building addition, constructed to house training simulators for the United States Coast Guard’s new Fast Response Cutter, is located at their West Coast Training Center in Petaluma, California, and is our 50th design-build project to achieve LEED® certification. The project received a LEED® Gold certification.
The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a private, membership-based non-profit organization that promotes sustainability in how buildings are designed, built, and operated. USGBC is best known for its development of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building rating systems and its annual Greenbuild International Conference and Expo, the world’s largest conference and expo dedicated to green building.
LEED is a green building certification program that recognizes best-in-class building strategies and practices. To receive LEED certification, building projects satisfy prerequisites and earn points to achieve different levels of certification. Prerequisites and credits differ for each rating system, and teams choose the best fit for their project.
