Haskell Hires New Director of Design, Municipal and Education Division

JACKSONVILLE, FL – Haskell, a national leader in the AEC industry, recently announced the addition of Christopher D. Flagg, FASLA, as Director of Design, Municipal and Education Division. In his new role, Flagg is responsible for the oversight and expansion of the growing services that Haskell has developed in order to meet the needs of the changing marketplace.

As the past President of FLAGG Design Studio, his role as a designer, community visionary and urban designer has contributed to numerous improvements within the City of Jacksonville. His thirty-eight plus years of experience within his profession has recently been recognized on a national level by the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) by his elevation to the 2013 Council of Fellows, one of the highest honors awarded within Landscape Architecture. Over the past ten years, his firm specialized in urban design, community planning, place-making, campus master planning and commissioned illustrations.

Flagg has dedicated himself to community and downtown advocacy through his many professional and philanthropic endeavors. He served as a past Mayoral appointed member of the Downtown Development Review Board for nine years, and is the immediate past Chair of Downtown Vision Inc. (DVI). He is currently on the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville’s Executive Board and has been active in the local downtown arts and cultural movement.

His most recent professional involvement in downtown development has been as lead designer of the Laura Street Redevelopment plan, lead designer on the recent Friendship Fountain Park Redevelopment, the Laura Street Façade Improvement Plan, the Downtown Arts District Activation Guidebook and as a Haskell sub-consultant, lead designer for the Southbank Riverwalk. He is a graduate of Leadership Jacksonville, Class of 2003. Over the last decade, FLAGG Design Studio has been recognized for numerous design and historic preservation awards.
