AGP Coal-Fired Boiler Facility

A powerful boiler needs an ultra-powerful structure.
When Haskell earned the contract to design and build a facility that would utilize a 300,000 pound-per-hour Babcock & Wilcox coal-fired circulating fluidized bed boiler, the project team took on an enormous task. From the boiler’s sheer magnitude to the facility’s environmental aspects, the $38 million coal-fired steam-generating facility would take months of design and years to construct.
 
Haskell crafted structures and systems that delivered.
Our scope of work included erection of the massive boiler as well as the design, purchase and erection of the coal handling, loading and unloading systems, as well as ash handling, pollution control, and powerful mechanical, electrical and control systems. It was a complicated recipe of design, fabrication and construction that demanded pinpoint accuracy.
 
We delivered service two months ahead of schedule.
With construction nearly complete, AG Processing began boiler testing and boil-out in July 2008. Haskell teams brought the facility service online in late August, 2008 — two months ahead of the project schedule.
