Bel Brands Plant Upgrade
A key upgrade to an aging plant took fast, creative thinking.
When Bel Brands needed to increase capacity at an existing 40-year-old plant, they turned to Haskell for master planning, architecture, engineering, fabrication and construction services. While the 17,000-square-foot project would analyze production and add new lines, no portion of the project could disrupt current production.
We managed tight schedules and an even tighter budget.
Within a small budget and short timeframe, the project managed to create a new 4,300-square-foot raw material cooler, install flow through racking and utilized specialty finishes and imported tile from France. While the first phase of the renovation was complete in a month, subsequent phases involved detailed coordination with various teams in different languages and varied time zones. The fast pace left plenty of room for creative solutions such as the 912-square-foot mezzanine office, which was built in an unutilized high clearance area to add much-needed extra space beyond the production floor improvements.
We successfully and quickly achieved our client’s goals.
Haskell achieved Bel Brands’ plant start-up and production goals, despite the challenges that often arise when renovating a 40-year-old facility. The team’s success came from high degrees of planning, communication, trust and professionalism. We look forward to future collaborations with Bel Brands as they increase market share in North America and around the world.
