Pilot Pen Distribution Facility

A manufacturer needed a facility to centralize distribution.
Pilot Pen, the third largest writing instrument company in the United States, was ready to increase its national distribution capabilities. So the precision writing instrument manufacturer turned to Haskell — the same company they trusted to build and expand their neighboring manufacturing facility.

We created a state-of-the-art center that supported automation.
The new 120,000-square-foot automated distribution facility is a fully air conditioned building with load bearing tilt-up concrete walls and a conventional steel frame. One especially interesting feature of the storage area is the super-flat flooring which accommodates wire-guided material handling equipment.

The company had a brand new distribution hub in just eight months.
Haskell provided real estate services, as well as complete design-build services, for the facility, which distributes all of the company’s products throughout the United States.
