Tropicana Production Upgrades

Tropicana’s two new high-speed packaging lines meant big changes for two operating facilities.
Meeting a client’s needs can present unusual challenges. When Tropicana decided to introduce new clear plastic orange juice bottles, it meant significant changes to two facilities, plus the lines’ packaging and blow molding systems needed to be designed, procured and installed. With both Bradenton and Ft. Pierce locations requiring quick expansion to meet the market-driven deadline, they turned to Haskell to bring it all together — quickly.
 
Self-performance helped us meet the aggressive deadline.
More than 58,500 combined square feet of facility expansions provided time to prepare and install manufacturing equipment. Haskell’s in-house fabrication services ensured quick and accurate delivery of building components. With the ultra-compressed schedule, there could be no delays. With facility expansions complete, high-speed PET bottling lines were installed. Haskell supported detailed design, procurement and installation of the equipment and associated utilities. Haskell’s commitment continued with full line start-up and training.
 
An expansive project scope called for a partnership with deep resources.
Tropicana’s needs went far beyond expanded facilities. The high-speed PET bottling lines included blow molding, rinsing, filling, labeling, case packing, palletizing/stretch wrapping and associated full and empty bottle and case conveying. In seven months, we created the lines, updated facilities and built and perfected lines so they could produce orange juice in the company’s new clear carafe containers.
